40 inch TCL LE40FHDE3010 FHD LED TV via Amazon
Black TCL LE40FHDE3010 is a 40 inch full array LED backlit TV with 1080p resolution for sharpness and image quality, 60Hz refresh rate for fast motion picture performance in action movies and sports, 16:9 image aspect ratio, wide horizontal and vertical moving angles from anywhere in the room and 250cd/m2 brightness. TCL LE40FHDE3010 weighs 15.2 pounds- quite lightweight and measures 36.8 x 22.2 x 3.7 inches without stand- screen is 40 inches from corner to corner- measured diagonally.
At this price level you really can’t expect a lot of features for a LED television of this size, firstly it is not a smart TV but comes with 3 x HDMI, 1 x USB and 1 x MHL inputs for connectivity on the right hand side so they are easy to reach and connect (making it compatible with) other devices- cable or satellite TV, Blu Ray or DVD players or gaming consoles. Despite being cheaper, the LE40FHDE3010 looks like an improved model with a slim body and a solid stand. The picture quality is quite good with better shadow details and black levels than before, being also a Full HD LED TV with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, which means true-to-life, clear and crisp visuals and 4000000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio with 16.7 Million colours with the TCL TruColor advanced colour enhancing technology- vibrant colours and luminous brightness.
Full array LED means the dead spots are eliminated and provide better contrast, brightness across the screen and great colours. It has dual speakers that deliver all right sound for a budget TV, so the picture is very good, sound is adequate and you may want to consider a home theatre system or a soundbar. It is an Energy Star 6.0 compliant TV so the power consumption is good with 82 kWh estimated electricity use per annum assuming you will have TV on for 5 hours each day so it will help you save money with reduced electricity bills. You can fine tune or customise the image to what you prefer and enjoy games, movies, children shows etc. TCL LED TV has a slim frame design and the ultra thin bezel that lets the television to fit more into less space and is wall mountable with VESA standard 400mm x 400mm. It is easy enough to set-up (one of the customers had a hard time attaching the base to the TV with the screws that come in the box).
TCL is not really a household name in United States (but growing in popularity), it specialises in low cost budget TV’s that are popular with retailers online and it actually is the third largest TV manufacturer globally and they also manufacture many components in different TV’s. The image quality can be compared easily to some of the much more expensive models (what is lacking here is a well-known brand name and extra smart TV features you may or may not need.) One of the customers says it is a little slow when you’re changing channels- longer response time. It comes with a Closed Caption Decoder for easy multilingual movie watching and a Dolby Digital Decoder to function well with any home theatre system. You can also use it for gaming on Xbox or Play Stations, for multimedia editing or as a computer screen for both work and play online.
