Taotaole UC40 is a compact and portable multimedia beamer front projection LED lamp home theatre projector with 800 lumens brightness, 1000:1 contrast, 4:3/16:9 image aspect ratio, 34 to 130 inch image size and 3.51 to 12.46 feet projection distance, 125mm lens, manual focus and 15 degrees of keystone correction to adjust the trapezoidal distortion on the picture. In the box you will find the projector, a manual remote control with battery, the power adaptor, an AV cable and a User Guide.
Taotaole UC40 weighs 1.8 pounds with measurements of 7.9 x 6 x 2.6 inches so it is very lightweight, compact and portable and you can easily take it wherever you go. You may use it for playing video games and watching movies at home or outdoors, is not suitable for presentations at work or PPT but should be OK for more casual class presentations at school. It is offered in black or white options and both have the same low price tag at the time of this review. Connectivity options include the USB, micro USB, HDMI, AV and Memory SD Card Reader, 3.5mm Headphone output and has a manual remote control. It comes with 2 x 2 watt speakers and the sound quality is OK (volume is a bit on the weak side) and supports MP3/WMA/WAV audio formats. LED lamp has a 20,000 hours life. TFT LCD image system has native resolution of only 800 x 480 pixels but up to 1920 x 1080 FHD resolution is also supported.
It is designed as a home theater projector but is also good for watching movies outdoors- obviously the picture quality will be better in a darker room and with the dial above the lens you can get the lens focused easily. Centre of the picture seems to be more focused than the sides though and the intensity of light could be better but you will still experience great high definition quality image especially in a darker room. USB port is the Power Bank-USB-(5V-OUT) variety so you can easily recharge your mobile with T60 via USB while the projector is running. At this price level you may well be surprised what you’re getting with this projector: Simple set-up, ease of use both indoors and outdoors (but also comes with a clear instruction manual), image quality, compact size, portable, easy connectivity via an HDMI cable to your computer or game console or even Apple TV, multimedia connectivity via the SD card output or the USB port and being a 50 watt power unit it will be easy on your energy bills. As long as you don’t have too high of expectations you will mostly be pleased with this decent little projector.
